Position Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team in a direct hire capacity. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses strong analytical, reconciliation, and reporting skills. The ideal candidate will have advanced Excel capabilities and experience working with large datasets to support financial reporting, month-end close activities, and business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Analyze financial data and investigate variances to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain supporting schedules.
- Prepare and maintain detailed financial reports for management review.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit requests.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiencies.
- Work extensively with large Excel spreadsheets and complex financial data sets.
- Utilize advanced Excel functions to analyze, reconcile, and validate financial information.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience; Senior Accountant experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Experience with financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
- Demonstrated ability to work with large Excel spreadsheets and high volumes of financial data.
- Strong experience creating and utilizing:
- VLOOKUPs
- Pivot Tables
- Advanced formulas and data analysis tools
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or CPA track preferred.
- Experience in a multi-entity or high-volume accounting environment.
- Experience supporting audits and financial statement preparation.
